Franchising with BrightStar Care opens doors for budding entrepreneurs passionate about impacting their communities. Peter Ngin's transition from a healthcare operations role to becoming a BrightStar Care franchisee exemplifies his entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to caregiving.
Embarking on a New Venture
Before franchising with BrightStar Care, Peter worked in the healthcare corporate world at UnitedHealth Group, focusing on the Medicare sector. He was responsible for marketing, sales, and digital operations and led the project management office there.
Peter was passionate about building a business and helped build the Medicare Part D business from the ground up in less than a year, including everything from teams to systems to processes. While Peter possessed experience in the corporate world and a passion for caregiving, this experience inspired him to explore startup and franchising opportunities.
"I've always loved building things, and I feel there's more satisfaction and appreciation in building something when you see it grow and mature over time," Peter states. "Success, of course, is down the road, and there are going to be bumps along the way, but that makes you take extra pride in creating something."
Discovering BrightStar Care
Peter's journey into franchising was exclusively focused on the healthcare sector, largely due to his extensive professional experience in the field and his personal involvement in home healthcare for his family. These personal encounters deeply impacted him, nurturing a strong dedication to offering home healthcare services and assisting others.
"I've always had a passion for caregiving and have seen it as part of a responsibility," Peter states. "Dealing with seniors was definitely a factor in that, and personally, I have been taking care of my younger sister and been helping take care of my mom as well, so it felt like the right time in my mind to go into providing caregiving services as a business owner and make this my career."
As Peter looked for franchise opportunities in the healthcare industry, he discovered BrightStar Care's benefits and recognition. "When I was looking at BrightStar Care, the brand was so prominent, their franchise model was established, and the quality and integrity of their care meant something to me," he states. "Not only was their support all-encompassing, but when I spoke to other franchisees, they were very friendly, engaging, and supportive, so that community gave me a family feel and made it an easy decision."
Future Aspirations and Community Focus
Peter is looking forward to the opening of his BrightStar Care franchise in the Anaheim, Brea, Fullerton, Placentia, and Yorba Linda areas of California, with future plans to extend his services to Santa Ana and Orange. He is eager to integrate his business into the community, providing essential care services and building relationships with local residents and healthcare providers.
"The opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals and families in my community is what excites me the most about this venture," Peter shares. "I am committed to establishing a trusted and compassionate presence in the area, reflecting BrightStar Care's values of high-quality, person-centered care."
