Ryan Bethay is a new BrightStar Care franchisee who proudly embodies this philosophy in his business. With ten years of experience in the healthcare industry as a registered nurse, Ryan has a unique perspective that has fueled his passion for going above and beyond for his community.
From ICU to Entrepreneurship
Ryan’s career in the healthcare industry began in 2014 after graduating from the University of Alabama with a degree in registered nursing. His early years were spent at the bedside in the ICU, and he later flourished for 6 years as a certified clinical nurse research coordinator at the University of Kentucky.
Not wanting to be limited in his career, Ryan pursued a master’s in nursing healthcare leadership at Kentucky, where he realized he could advance his career and make a bigger impact in the healthcare industry by combining his nursing experience with his leadership skills. “I was always longing for something more, more responsibility and more ownership in my job,” Ryan states. “But as one individual you can only go so far and provide so much care. So I was like, where is there not a limit?”
Ryan found his answer when he came across the opportunity to own his business with BrightStar Care. Impressed with the Joint Commission Accreditation and exceptional responsiveness and support of the leadership team, Ryan knew that owning a BrightStar Care franchise would allow him to make the impact he was searching for: “BrightStar Care checked all my boxes,” Ryan states. “I get to use my clinical background and my leadership skills, and wrap it all up into one company to grow as much as I can and help as many people as I can.”

This year, Ryan opened his first agency in North Lexington, Kentucky! By providing a comprehensive range of in-home healthcare services and forging strong connections, Ryan is excited about the potential for his BrightStar Care location to meet all the healthcare needs of his community.
“I am most excited about forming my team and building relationships within the healthcare sector whether that be clinicians, doctor’s offices, or hospital referrals,” Ryan states. "I want to be the one-stop-shop for my area and bring much-needed services to our community."
